About Printing

Printing is a process in which an image is simulated on a surface, such as paper. It is generally carried out as a large-scale industrial process, and is an necessary part of publishing and transaction printing. Offset printing is a widely used printing technique where the inked image is removed from a plate to a rubber cover, then to the printing surface. When used in combination with the lithographic process, which is based on the detestation of oil and water, the balance technique occupys a flat image carrier on which the image to be printed obtains ink from ink rollers, while the non-printing area attracts a film of water, keeping the non-printing areas ink-free.

A laser printer that uses a laser and the electrophotographic system to print a full page at a time. The laser paints a charged drum with light, to which toner is applied and then assigned onto paper. Desktop laser printers use cut sheets similars a copy machine. Large printers may use paper rolls that are cut after printing.

Color laser printers use colored toner commonly cyan, magenta, yellow and black with a printing pass for each toner color. Color adds complexity to the printing process because very denigrate misalignments known as registration errors can occur between printing each color, causing undesigned color trimming, blurring or light/dark streaking near the borders of colored regions. To allow a high registration veracity, some color laser printers use a large belt the size of a full sheet of paper to create the image. All three or four layers of toner are directly applied to the belt and the combined layers are then applied to the paper in a single step.

Pad printing is a printing process that can change a 2-D image onto a 3-D object. This is practiced using an indirect offset printing process that includes an image being changed from the printing plate via a silicone pad onto a substrate. Pad printing is used for printing on otherwise difficult products in many industries including medical, automotive, promotional, apparel, electronics, appliances, sports equipment and toys. It can also be used to deposit functional materials such as conductive inks, adhesives, dyes and lubricants.
